The variety of professional disciplines within Spectra Engineering & Research, Inc. has allowed us to design exciting livable housing and communities in North and Central Florida. Our engineers, surveyors, planners, and environmentalists have utilized innovative skills to design and permit environmentally sensitive projects. These communities include planned urban developments, housing for the handicap, retirement communities, student housing, apartments, townhomes and subdivisions.
Goodwill Industries, Inc. hired Spectra Engineering through a local architect provided civil, environmental and site engineering design services for different HUD projects located in Leon, Bay, and Jackson Counties. These projects involved the design of multi-housing units for the handicapped. Spectra Engineering provided site engineering, grading, drainage and stormwater facilities, sanitary sewer systems, potable water distribution, roadway design, bike lanes, sidewalks, parking, curbs and gutters. Spectra Engineering successfully secured local, state, and federal environmental permits for these projects. Each of the projects covered over 4 acres and had a construction cost of more than $2.5 million.
The client hired SER to prepare master plan and preliminary design services for 12 acre site to house single family homes, elderly care facilities, day care, and elderly care services. This site posed unique challenges with the environment since the site contained floodplain areas, wetlands and other environmental sensitive features. As part of the master plan, part of the site was set aside for wastewater treatment plant, well design, stormwater facility, pools and other recreational facilities.
SER was hired by a nonprofit agency to help with the master plan and design of townhomes and duplexes. SER performed surveying services, environmental assessment of land, civil engineering design, planning, and permitting. The project involved two stages. Stage one involved the construction of 22 town homes and stage two involved construction of single and family homes and duplexes. Other services performed include design of wastewater system, stormwater system, drainage facility and securing necessary building permits.
The scope for this project involved the master planning and design of a 30 -acre subdivision. The subdivision at build out will accommodate 90 single family homes with all amenities. Services provided include, complete roadway and parking design, stormwater management facilities, drainage studies and design, grading, water and wastewater system design, stormwater management facilities modeling and design, environmental engineering services, infrastructure planning & upgrade, stormwater management permits and construction plans and specifications. The following streets were designed as part of Pine Ridge Estate Subdivision in Thomasville, Georgia:
Braunson Street, Pinecrest Lane, Pinecrest Boulevard, Chris Court Williams Court, and Brandson Court
11 large acreage single family residential lots. The services performed include: site development, stormwater facilities design, roadway design, water and sewer infrastructure design and extension, environmental permitting, and construction administration.
Design of 19 large acre lots and club house. The services performed include: site development, stormwater facilities design, roadway design, water and sewer infrastructure design and extension, environmental permitting, and construction administration.
Planning and design of 82 acre subdivision comprised of over 200 lots and amenities and infrastructure. The services performed include: site development, stormwater facilities design, roadway design, water and sewer infrastructure design and extension, environmental permitting, and construction administration.
Spectra was hired by a local developer to plan and design Woodberry Subdivision located in Tallahassee, Florida. The site for this development posed several challenging environmental issues including steep slope, wetlands, floodplains areas, and other environmental features. Our engineers planned and designed a new street, Fairmont Road, and 30 lots for single and multifamily dwellings as part of the subdivision. Other services performed include site development, stormwater facilities design, roadway design, water and sewer infrastructure design and extension, environmental permitting, and construction administration.
New 30 unit condominium units. Services performed include: site development, stormwater facilities design, roadway design, water and sewer infrastructure design and extension, environmental permitting, and construction administration.
This is part of a housing project designed and developed for students at Florida A&M University. The developer hire Spectra Engineering & Research to prepare site planning and site design of the duplexes. Spectra provided surveying, civil and site engineering design, water and sewer system design, and environmental permitting.
Spectra Engineering & Research was hired in collaboration with an architect to design Bethel Towers, an assisted living elderly housing community in Leon County. This modern and mulit-story facility for the elderly has over 60 units. The facility includes shops, recreation center and other amenities. SER provided civil engineering design, including water and sewer extension and design, grading and drainage system, environmental permitting, stormwater systems design and construction administration.
Planning and design of 20 unit townhomes subdivision, clubhouse, and other amenities. Services performed include: site development, stormwater facilities design, roadway design, water and sewer infrastructure design and extension, environmental permitting, and construction administration.
